PubMed, Biologicals, 2020 Dec 4;S1045-1056(20)30136-6. (Also see Antibodies in Lupus and Biologic Agents)

Associations between Polymorphisms in the IL-1 Gene and the Risk of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE): Evidence from a Meta-Analysis. This meta-analysis was performed to more robustly evaluate associations between polymorphisms in the IL-1 gene and the risk of RA/SLE. PubMed, Int Arch Allergy Immunol, 2020 Dec 7;1-9. (Also see Interleukins,Causes of Lupus and Causes of Rheumatoid Arthritis)

The IL-23/IL-17 Pathway in Inflammatory Skin Diseases: From Bench to Bedside. We summarize the latest knowledge about the biology, signaling, and pathophysiological functions of the IL-23/IL-17 axis in inflammatory skin diseases. PubMed, Front Immunol, 2020 Nov 17;11:594735. (Also see Interleukins)

Immune-mediated diseases (IMDs) and risk of Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC): a prospective cohort study. Individuals with one or more IMDs are at an increased risk for CD but not UC. PubMed, Aliment Pharmacol Ther, 12/07/2020. (Also see Inflammatory Bowel Disease)

The Risk of COVID-19 Pandemic in Patients with Moderate to Severe Plaque Psoriasis Receiving Systemic Treatments. PubMed, Vaccines (Basel), 2020 Dec 2;8(4):E728. (Also see Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis)

Comparing the effects of vestibular rehabilitation with and without lavender oil scents as an olfactory stimulus on balance, fear of falling down and activities of daily living of people with multiple sclerosis: a randomized clinical trial. (Also see Multiple Sclerosis)

Defining the course of tumefactive multiple sclerosis (TuMS): a large retrospective multicentre study. Large prospective studies could help to define the clinical characteristics and the best treatment algorithms for people with TuMS. PubMed, Eur J Neurol, 12/10/2020. (Also see Multiple Sclerosis)

Performance of Different Criteria for Refractory Myasthenia Gravis (MG). There is high variability in the proportion of refractory MG patients depending on the criteria used, with ICG and REGAIN criteria capturing patients with worse disease severity. PubMed, Eur J Neurol, 12/11/2020. (Also see Myasthenia Gravis)

Reduced plasmablast frequency is associated with seronegative myasthenia gravis. Reduced plasmablast frequencies are strongly associated with a SN MG diagnosis and may be a useful diagnostic biomarker in the future. PubMed, Muscle Nerve, 12/08/2020. (Also see Myasthenia Gravis)

Structural Perspective of Gliadin Peptides Active in Celiac Disease. Gluten fragments released in gut of celiac individuals activate the innate or adaptive immune systems. PubMed, Int J Mol Sci, 2020 Dec 6;21(23):E9301. (Also see Celiac Disease)
