Star: Widow of Scleroderma Patient

If I can help someone like you and give you strength to go on with life, then I know he is smiling on me.

A Flower for Star by Shelley Ensz My name is Star and I want to share my story about my husband. I am forty-three and I lost my husband on October 7, 2001. He had scleroderma for two years.

We were married for twenty-four years and have three sons ages twentyone, twenty-two, and twenty-four. He was very strong man, a loving husband, and father.

Frankie was my life, whom I love and will never forget, but he gave me strength to continue, and if I can help someone like you and give you strength to go on with life, then I know he's smiling on me.

~Update-01-14-05~

I want to thank all of you for being there for me and my three sons, Charles, Jay and David. I do not think I could have understood what scleroderma really was without you.

After my husband passed away I got on the internet and this web site helped me to really understand why my husband got this illness. Even his doctor could not explain it to me as well as this web site.

My husband lived two years with this illness and I miss him every day. You have no idea how hard the two years were that I went through with him. But you have all helped me to deal with this and I thank you all so very much. May god be with you.

Keep up the wonderful work you are doing. I hope there is a cure one day so no one has to suffer like my Frank. My love and prayers go out to all of you. Thank you all.
