Michela P: Swelling in Hands and Feet

Italia

Yellow Rose by Sherrill Knaggs, ISN Artist Hello, I am a forty-nine-year-old woman. My problem is that some time ago I began to be affected by swelling in several parts of my body, mainly hands, feet, ankles and legs. I do not feel a lot of pain, but I feel like my skin is burning on my hands. When I sleep, I get cramps in my legs, and the same burning sensation as well as numbness in my hands, which is very annoying.

A few weeks ago, I had some urine and blood analysis. While in the blood test everything looked normal, in my urine samples they found albumin.

I have been in a stage of menopause for eight years, and I use hormone patches. I should add I have some problems of high blood pressure. Usually my minimum is between 90 and a 100, and I measure it every day at the pharmacy.

I would like to know what could be the cause of these symptoms and if it is something I should worry about. I thank you in advance, and I hope to get an answer as soon as possible.
