Kasra: Son of Father with Morphea Scleroderma
Iran

Flowers for Kasra by Shelley Ensz I am writing from Iran. My father has had morphea scleroderma since 1990. The morphea patch appeared on his stomach and was about the size of a hand.

He went to a doctor in 1990, and the doctor gave him one thousand vitamin E tablets to fight the disease. Before going to the doctor, his skin was hard. After using the tablets, his skin became softer and the color started to return to the usual color. Then it stopped.

We thought that it was cured, but in 2001, it started up again as small spots on the other side of his stomach. Please tell me what can we do?

The doctor that we went to in 1990 is now dead, and the doctors in Iran do not have much information about this kind of disease. Please help me. I am worried about his health. Thanks.
