CJ: Systemic Scleroderma and Fibromyalgia

I have been going to doctors for over five years now
and have just recently been diagnosed.

Sunflowers for CJ by Shelley Ensz I would like to know if other people with the same diagnosis have a lot of problems with muscle spasms?

It seems like the least little bump or movement can set off a severe case of muscle spasms. It is interesting to find that what you did yesterday did not bother you, but the next day it might send you to the doctor's office crying in pain, and you begin to think you are insane because you used to be able to take a few pains in stride. Now you get angry, stressed and depressed.

I have been going to doctors for over five years now and have just recently been diagnosed.

~ Update 02-24-02 ~

My brother has been diagnosed with Stiff Man Syndrome, which we've been told is a form of neuropathy, akin to scleroderma. I cannot find any articles on this condition. If anyone out there has any information on this syndrome, please e-mail me.

~ Update 05-28-02 ~

Maybe this will help someone else like it did my brother and I. We heard through the scleroderma grapevine about MSM (a natural sulfur supplement). It works!

I stopped taking a prescription pain reliever medication due to stomach problems, as I was in a lot of severe pain. I was up to eight to ten pain pills daily. Once I started taking seven grams of MSM a day, my pain medication need dropped down to only five, sometimes six pills a day.

Some of this all natural stuff seems to help me.
