Systemic Scleroderma Symptoms: MAIN PAGE
These symptoms may occur in systemic scleroderma (systemic sclerosis) but usually not in localized scleroderma, such as linear or morphea scleroderma. See Types of Scleroderma. Nearly all of these symptoms may occur alone or as part of other illnesses besides scleroderma, particularly including other arthritis or autoimmune diseases or in scleroderma-like illnesses. Just because an item is listed here does not mean that it will occur in any given case, as there are many different types of scleroderma, which vary greatly in regard to both symptoms and severity. Consult a rheumatologist or scleroderma expert for diagnosis of scleroderma or related illnesses.

Identification Of Major Heath Problems Of Patients With Limited Systemic Sclerosis And Diffuse Systemic Sclerosis - Ailments Reported By Patients Versus Diagnostic Tests. Joint pain, which is characteristic for early SSc as well as ulceration and finger dysaesthesia may cause significant difficulties in self-care activities; alimentary tract problems affect mainly lSSc patients; SSc-related lung lesions are more often observed in dSSc patients. Subjective symptoms do not always indicate the progression of lesions observed in diagnostic tests. M. Sierakowska FRI0507-AHP EULAR 2008.
