David Becker

ISISN Assistant News Guide

Wellenuff by Shelley EnszHello, I am David Becker, your ISN Assistant News Guide.

I am an attorney practicing law in wonderful sunny Florida. I received my college degree from Penn State University before attending law school at Stetson University College of Law, in Gulfport, Florida.

My spare time is spent enjoying the company of my wife, kids and dogs. In 2006, I was diagnosed with diffuse scleroderma. I had no idea what that meant at the time. All I knew was I felt lousy and things kept getting worse. My research led me to the International Scleroderma Network, where I was able to interact with many who were going through exactly the same thing. The support I received here and continue to receive has been tremendous.

In 2007, I was lucky enough to be accepted into the SCOT study at Duke University Medical Center, where I received a stem cell transplant to help combat this disease. I am happy to say I am now doing well, working full time and just happy to be here. As your Assistant News Guide, I hope to provide the same support that was given to me when I needed it most. Please feel free to e-mail me at david-becker@sclero.org.
